Fall for Free Guided Hikes in Niagara Falls USA

Niagara Falls USA and the surrounding region offers some of the best hiking trails.

With various difficulty levels, hiking can be easy, affordable and fun for the entire family. If you're seeking a guided hike, or want to learn more about the great outdoors, partake in one (or all) of the Niagara Region Interpretive Programs Office activities offered this fall.

All pre-scheduled programs are FREE and intended for individuals and families. Hike space is limited and pre-registration for these activities is required by phone, 716-282-5154.

Sat., Oct. 7 Artpark State Park Fall into Fitness - Niagara Falls in the Beginning: Hike the trails where Niagara Falls first formed. 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Sun., Oct. 8 Wilson Tuscarora State Park Fall Photography Hiking Series: Enjoy the fall foliage on a guided hike. Don't forget your camera or phone. 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Sat., Oct. 14 Whirlpool State Park Fall into Fitness - Whirl of Fall: Hike down to the Whirlpool Flats and view the changing colors. 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Sun., Oct. 15 Devil's Hole State Park Fall Photography Hiking Series: Enjoy a fall hike and view the many scenic spots along the gorge rim. Bring your camera or phone. 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Sat., Oct. 21 Niagara Falls State Park Fall into Fitness - Great Gorge: Hike along the Great Gorge Railway Trail and learn about the geology and local history. 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Sat., Oct. 21 Artpark State Park Tail and Trails Fall Foliage Walk: Explore the history and beauty of the park with your four-legged friend. Dogs must be on a leash at all times. 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Sun., Oct. 22 Niagara Falls State Park Just Pawing Around: Enjoy a stroll with your furry friend through the oldest State Park in America. Dogs must be on a leash at all times. 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Sun., Oct. 29 Niagara Falls State Park Fun Facts at the Falls: Enjoy a walk and learn abou the history, daredevils and fun facts about the Falls. 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Tues., Oct. 31 Whirlpool State Park Halloween Hike - A Haunted History: Hike along the rim from Whirlpool to Devil's Hole while hearing some spooky and mysterious history of the area. 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Fri., Nov. 3 Fort Niagara State Park Then & Now Photography Hiking Series: Learn about history and enjoy a relaxing photography hike. Compare historic photos of then to now. 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. 
Sat., Nov. 4 Whirlpool State Park Fall into Fitness - High Above the Gorge at Low Water: Take a scenic hike along the rim and look at the changing water level of the River. 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Fri., Nov. 10 Artpark State Park Then & Now Photography Hiking Series: Learn about history and enjoy a relaxing photography hike. Compare historic photos of then to now. 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. 
Sat., Nov. 11 Whirlpool State Park Gorge at Low Water: View the Niagara Gorge after the volume of water in the River is reduced by 25%. 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Fri., Nov. 17 Fort Niagara State Park Night Sky Over Niagara: Dress for the weather and view the night skies over the Fort.
Sat., Nov. 18 Whirlpool State Park Gorge at Low Water: View the Niagara Gorge after the volume of water in the River is reduced by 25%. 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Sat., Dec. 9 Niagara Falls State Park Jingle Falls Winter Bird Walk: Be introduced to some of the birds that call Niagara Falls State Park their home during the coldest months.
Sat., Dec. 16 Niagara Falls State Park Jingle Falls Light Up the Holidays Hike: Explore the history of power and the works of Nikola Tesla, who harnessed alternating current right here at Niagara Falls.
Sun., Dec. 17 Niagara Falls State Park Winter Wonder Photography Walk: Join a park naturalist for a winter photography walk. Bring your camera or phone and dress for the weather. 11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Mon., Jan. 1, 2018 DeVeaux Woods State Park First Day Hike: Hike through an old growth woods to the Niagara Gorge Rim Trail to see the rapids and whirlpool. Meet at Castellani Building.
Mon., Jan. 1, 2018 Niagara Falls State Park First Day Hike: Stroll through the oldest state park in America and welcome the first day of the new year! Meet at Parking Lot #3 on Goat Island.
