How to Support Local Farms in Niagara Falls USA

While this is no ordinary farmers market season, you can still access locally-grown food and support small farms and businesses in Niagara Falls USA.

From CSAs to farmers markets and pickups from the farm itself, there are many options to get the necessities and more without visiting the grocery store.

Note: When visiting a farmers market, follow public health and safety advisories and resist the urge to linger and socialize.

Dairy

Hoover’s Dairy has been selling dairy products since 1920, and continue their long-standing tradition as the local “milkman,” delivering fresh milk to the front door of many households. Hoover’s is known for having the creamiest plain, chocolate-, and strawberry-flavored milk, bottled in old-fashioned glass bottles. Visit their Dairy Store, open year-round, to pick up your own quart.

Located in Barker, NY, Teacup Farm is a New York state certified raw cow and goat milk dairy. Teacup also produces low temperature pasteurized milk, which you can find at local retail outlets like The Natural Link in Lewiston, NY. Take a drive out to their Farm Store for raw milk (which can only be purchased onsite), and other dairy products such as feta, cheese curds, heavy cream and yogurt.

Fresh Fruits & Vegetables

With over 800 farms within Niagara County, many of which offer Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs. A CSA allows consumers to buy a share, which varies in size based on number of people, and receive a seasonal mix of local produce grown right on the farm.

At this time, Becker Farms or McCollum Orchards & Gardens are currently taking members for the season. Find a local CSA farm near you for a steady supply of fresh, healthy food.

Get some fresh air and find local bounty at farmers markets like the North Tonawanda Farmer’s Market and the Niagara Falls City Market, both open year-round.

Or fill up your virtual shopping bag at the Lockport Community Farmers Market online shop and pick up curbside. Participating vendors are supplying not only produce but also meats, dairy, baked goods and more. All items on the online market are SNAP approved.

Beginning June 6th, the Lewiston Artisan Farmers Market will open every Saturday at Academy Park in the Village of Lewiston, offering a mix of vendors from local farmers to talented artisans.
