At the Niagara Falls Convention Center, sustainability is thoughtfully integrated into the way we operate and host events. As meeting planners increasingly prioritize environmentally responsible venues, our team is committed to supporting events that minimize waste, conserve resources, and positively impact our community.

From day-to-day facility operations to event execution, we take practical steps to reduce our environmental footprint while maintaining the high standards our clients and guests expect. Below are some of the sustainable practices currently in place at the Niagara Falls Convention Center.

Food & Beverage

  • Use of china, silverware, and linens to reduce single-use disposables.
  • Sourcing food from local suppliers whenever possible.
  • Safe donation of unused food from events to local charities to reduce waste.

Resource & Energy Efficiency

  • High-efficiency LED lighting with auto shut-off in meeting spaces and common areas conserves energy.
  • 5% of our electrical load is supplied by USEPA-certified green power.
  • Refillable water jugs and stations in meeting rooms reduce single-use plastics.
  • High-efficiency hand dryers, water-conserving toilets, faucets, and soap dispensers in restrooms reduce waste and water use.

Materials & Waste Management

  • Recycling programs for cans, cardboard, and other materials help divert waste from landfills.
  • Purchase of recyclable, Green Seal-certified products and environmentally friendly cleaning supplies.
  • Recycling receptacles are located throughout the facility for convenient sorting.
  • Digital displays throughout the facility reduce the need for printed signage and paper waste.

Operations & Building Management

  • Building automation system monitors thermostats, air intake, and other systems, while sensors track heat and occupancy to optimize energy use.
