Art on the banks of the Erie Canal

Two exhibitions will be opening Saturday, at the new Lockside Art Center, featuring “Prom Garden,” made from prom dress hems, by Mary Fisher (pictured above).

From 2 - 4 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at Lockside Art Center (21 Main St., Ste. 208, Lockport, N.Y. 14094) will celebrate the opening of the Fiber Arts Exhibition in the main gallery, and an eclectic one-artist exhibition in the sculpture gallery. 

The Fiber Arts Exhibition includes exceptional work by many western New York fiber artists (quilting, weaving, felting, rug making, crocheting, embroidery). The Sculpture Exhibition features a variety of work by western New York sculptor Gig Goldstein, pictured right with wood sculptures "Sunfish, Red Ear, and Turtle" and "Sea Serpent."

Lockside is open noon to 4 p.m., and by appointment Friday through Sunday.
