Pride in the Press: WHY EVERYONE’S TALKING ABOUT NEW YORK’S WORLDPRIDE FESTIVITIES

From the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising to Pride at the Falls on July 5, all eyes are on New York this summer as the state gears up to celebrate the world’s largest Pride event.

With upwards of 4 million international attendees expected at WorldPride in New York City come June, it’s no wonder that Pride events in the Big Apple and beyond are the talk of the town. Here’s what to look forward to around the Empire State this summer, from Times Square ceremonies to Niagara Falls’ own Pride at the Falls  which will feature a performance by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra — as well as Married With Pride, a mass ceremony atop the Falls for those betrothed or looking to renew their vows. Both events will end with a fireworks display, as well as the main event: the Falls bedecked in celebratory rainbow hues.
