International Travel Information

Foreign travelers to the United States and Niagara Falls USA for short visits such as vacation or holiday, must first obtain a visitor visa, unless qualified for entry under the Visa Waiver Program.

There are several steps required to apply for a visa and they may vary at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate where you apply.

Most citizens of participating countries may travel to the United States for short visits without a visa through the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), administered by the Department of Homeland Security in consultation with the State Department. The Visa Waiver Program permits citizens of 38 countries to travel to the United States for business or tourism for stays of up to 90 days without a visa, when all requirements are met and approved through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). Countries participating in the Visa Waiver Program include, but are not limited to Australia, France, Germany, Ireland, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, New Zealand and United Kingdom.
