Fishing in Niagara USA - come feel the "reel" thing
Vote now, through May 31. Olcott is competing against nearly 500 towns. Olcott is the only town nominated from Niagara County.
Olcott could win a $25,000 donation for the community from WFN - a perfect gift for some angling-related improvements. The second goal to achieve is something a bit more important - pride. Niagara County has a long standing history in the world of fishing and it's about time we put our mark on the angling world in a more formal sense. Whether it's the thousands of fishermen and women that visit Fisherman's Park every fall or the thousands of anglers that compete in derbies, tournaments or fish on charter boats out of the port of Olcott - the community can use all the votes they can get. In fact, you can vote up to four times a day (every six hours) throughout the entire month!
"We really want to win this," said Town of Newfane Supervisor Tim Horanburg. "We are proud of our angling resources and we should all band together. Please support us!"
With fishing season underway on Lake Ontario and the start of the Lake Ontario Counties Trout and Salmon Derby, this is the perfect time to "cast" your ballot for Olcott Beach. Vote once, vote four times a day - everyone counts! Help Olcott Beach gain the "Ultimate Fishing Town" title ... and a check for winning!
Votes for Olcott can be cast once per email address four times a day at www.worldfishingnetwork.com/uft/town/olcottbeach-ny. Time blocks for voting are 12am - 6am, 6am - noon, noon - 6pm, and 6pm - midnight. Be sure to share your votes on Facebook and Twitter. The hash tags are #Olcott and #UltimateFishingTown.
