Visitor Spending in Niagara County Reaches $1.16 Billion in 2024, Boosting Local Economy
Niagara Falls, NY — New data released by a New York State-commissioned Tourism Economics research study shows that visitor spending in Niagara County reached $1.163 billion in 2024, a 6.4% increase over 2023, reinforcing the vital role tourism plays in the region’s economy.
Tourism activity in 2024 generated $62.7 million in local taxes, up 4.3% from the previous year. This revenue helps fund essential public services and infrastructure, equating to an average of $1,276 in tax savings per household in Niagara County.
The industry also supported 15,238 jobs, accounting for 22.6% of the county’s total workforce, further underscoring its impact on residents’ livelihoods and the local economy.
