Niagara Falls Celebrates National Travel and Tourism Week May 4-10, 2025
Niagara Falls, NY — Destination Niagara USA is proud to announce its participation in National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW) from May 4–10, 2025. This annual celebration highlights the vital role the U.S. travel industry plays in driving economic growth, creating jobs, and enhancing America’s global competitiveness. In Niagara County, the tourism industry contributes more than $1 billion annually, supporting local businesses, creating employment opportunities, and fostering long-term community growth. To recognize the profound impact of tourism, Destination Niagara USA has planned a series of activities and special events throughout the week.
In a spectacular display of unity and pride, Niagara Falls will be illuminated in red on Monday, May 5, from 10:30–10:45 p.m., symbolizing the power and importance of travel.
Throughout the week, Destination Niagara USA will celebrate the individuals who make the tourism experience unforgettable by honoring seven outstanding frontline employees with the 3rd Annual Tourism Employee Spotlight Awards. The winners were nominated by their peers and supervisors across Niagara County’s tourism and hospitality sectors, with nearly 30 submissions reviewed by a selection committee.
The Official Niagara Falls USA Visitor Center will also host daily pop-ups featuring local Niagara County partners who will share their specialties:
- Sunday, May 4: Tuscarora Woodworks and Platter’s Chocolate Factory featuring Sammy Sponge (North Tonawanda)
