Total Solar Eclipse Brings NASA to Niagara Falls
Astronaut Jeremy Hansen to Appear Throughout the Region
Niagara Falls, NY — Leading up to the once-in-a-lifetime total solar eclipse in Niagara Falls, NASA will be in the destination to present free programming from subject matter experts, as well as appearances by astronaut Jeremy Hansen. Originally from Ontario, Canada, Colonel Hansen was a CF-18 fighter pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force. In May of 2009, he was selected as an astronaut candidate. He has been assigned as a mission specialist on the Artemis II later this month, and will become the first Canadian to ever venture to the moon.
Colonel Hansen will appear at the following locations throughout the week:
Saturday, April 6 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the SUNY Niagara Fine Arts Auditorium, located at 3111 Saunders Settlement Road in Sanborn
Saturday, April 6 from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. at the Niagara Falls High School Performing Arts Center, located at 4455 Porter Road in Niagara Falls
Sunday, April 7 from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the Buffalo Museum of Science, located at 1020 Humboldt Parkway in Buffalo
Monday, April 8 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Welcome Center at Niagara Falls State Park
The Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Welcome Center at Niagara Falls State Park will also have NASA exhibits on display from Friday, April 5 – Monday, April 8 during the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. NASA subject matter experts will present free programming starting on Thursday, April 4 at the Aquarium of Niagara, the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center, the Niagara Power Vista, the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute, Niagara Falls Public Libraries and the Niagara Aerospace Museum.
